This page is a resource service for anyone who wants to know more about equipment for independent living.
It is for people with disabilities and their carers, professionals and other organisations.
The Independent Living Centre houses permanent displays of basic and specialist equipment that assist with independence and caring.
The Occupational Therapist is able to give advice, information and assessment for equipment, when people are thinking about buying equipment which will help them with daily living.
When equipment needs come within health and/or social care provision, the Occupational Therapist will signpost people to relevant teams.
The Occupational Therapist provides advice and training for local clinicians on the assessment and provision of equipment available from the community equipment store. This training helps clinicians to maintain their own competencies and offer their clients and patients a safe and effective service.
