Community Infection Prevention and Control service – Halton, St Helens and Warrington

The Community IPC service work across Halton, St Helens and Warrington.

They promote prevention of infection through local targeted awareness raising and education activities amongst staff and organisations from a health and social care perspective.

Their work would cover the following workplaces:

  • Halton, St Helens & Warrington local authorities
  • Primary Care Networks and GPs servicing the 3 boroughs
  • Care and nursing homes
  • Dentists
  • Childcare providers
  • Schools
  • Other partners in each borough such as third sector and voluntary

Community IPC at Bridgewater helps to reduce the burden of health and social care related infection within the health economy.

In Warrington, the service also limits the spread of tuberculosis (TB) through the provision of TB prevention, follow up and treatment service.
