Making a referral – Halton Community Paediatric Service

Halton Children’s Specialist Services based at Halton Woodview Child Development Centre (CDC) include:

  • Community Paediatric Service
  • Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
  • Occupational Therapy Service
  • Physiotherapy Service

We accept referrals from:

  • Health Visitors, School Nurses
  • Allied Health Professionals – including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
  • GP’s
  • Schools.

Referrals can be made via a single referral form for all services based in Halton Children’s Specialist Service.

Referrals to the Community Paediatric Service should include concerns associated with:

  • Developmental delay
  • Regression of development with loss of skills
  • Assessment for possible Neuro-developmental conditions due to significant concern with attention, concentration and/or hyperactivity
  • Social and communication difficulties
  • Motor difficulties with neurological anomalies
  • Management and overview of complex long-term health conditions requiring ongoing medical management by a Community Paediatrician such as cerebral palsy, degenerative conditions, genetic syndromes
