Children’s Seats and Harnesses – Drive Ability North West

A free service to help your family get out and about.

Being able to get out and about is an essential part of family life.

Working with Windmill Special Needs, we offer car seat and harness assessments for children with a range of disabilities, or who have challenging behaviours.

During the assessment our Occupational Therapists will find out more about your child’s and your family’s needs – and we’ll recommend which car seat most suits you, including if it’s compatible with your vehicle.

If you’re concerned that an assessment may be difficult for your child, please don’t be. We’ll make the whole experience as easy as possible for you all.

What will happen on the day?

Our Occupational Therapists will conduct an assessment and provide you with a report which will help you to choose the car seat or harness that most meets your needs.

Please note we are unable to provide car seats or harnesses as part of our service.

How can I use the service for my child?

We accept referrals from health professionals, such as Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Health Visitors or GPs.
