Community Paediatrics – St Helens

Important notice

As of 1 April 2020, this service is now provided by St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

Covid-19 update

As part of our response to the coronavirus, we will not be accepting any, but the most urgent cases, to our service to allow staff to focus on those who need prioritising within the current caseload.

We therefore ask that you do not refer the child until matters are calmer, if it is acute matter than please consult the child’s GP.

We appreciate how frustrating this will be for you and would like to apologise.

We have not taken this decision lightly and would like to reassure you that we are taking all necessary steps to try to keep any disruption for patients to an absolute minimum.

Community Paediatrics in St Helens

The Community Paediatrics team consists of Doctors, Nurses and support staff.

This team is designed to work closely together, and with our partner services in St Helens to support families who have a child with a health or developmental need.

Our priority is to support families who have a medical need for an assessment, with a focus on listening to and understanding the perspective of the child, young person, and parents / carers.

Ensuring that we respond to the concerns of each child, young person and family is important to us. View our local offer for children and families.

The Looked Afrer Children’s Team part of this service has now moved to North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
