The Children’s Continence Service is a community based team of experienced specialist nurses and nursery nurses.
We provide support, advice and treatment to children and young people with bowel and/or bladder problems including those with Neuropathic bladder and bowels.
Where is the service offered?
St Helens clinics: Fingerpost Park Health Centre, Lowe House, Newton Hospital.
Halton clinics: HCRC Widnes, Hallwood Health Centre, Independent Living Centre, Murdishaw clinic.
We can also offer home visits for those unable to make it to clinic appointments. Some children may be seen in school if this is appropriate.
We can attend safeguarding meetings if required, submit reports and contribute to case conferences.
Training is offered to all health staff and we welcome anyone who wishes to shadow our clinics.
We also offer training to social care staff as well as foster carers.
